E // short // Abélia Nordmann is a conductor, singer and project manager in the region of Basel, Switzerland; her interdisciplinary and intercultural projects are always connected to social, ecological and political questions.

E // long // Abélia Nordmann is a french-swiss-german conductor working with choirs and vocal ensembles in Basel and Bern, Switzerland, as well as in neighbouring countries. She's directing the children's choir of the Opera Bern, the chamber choir Ensemble Choeur3, and the seventy voices of contrapunkt chor; she used to conduct the young vocal and instrumental ensemble kollektiv novantik, ensemble liberté, and the children and youth choir Kinder- und Jugendchor Lörrach. She initiated the singing activists FIMMENE!. With TRËI (Nordmann, Şimşek, Miribung), she tours, sings and arranges vocal folk from different cultures as well as own compositions. Abélia Nordmann's pieces are sung by ensembles of all ages.

Abélia Nordmann is part of the artistic advisory board of the European Youth Choir Festival Basel and member of the Cultural Council Baselland. Originally from Munich where she worked as a pianist, conductor and music teacher, she came to Switzerland in 2008 to complete her Specialised Master in choral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. In the South-West of France, she builds L'ARCADE, a cultural space for ideas and transformation.

Interdisciplinary and intercultural projects, contemporary music and new forms of choral improvisation are an important part of her repertoire; her projects connect to social, ecological and political questions and ask for open-minded eyes and ears towards the world. Abélia Nordmann's musical and conceptual work has been rewarded with the Förderpreis Musik des Kantons Basel-Landschaft 2016.

D // kurz // Abélia Nordmann ist künstlerische Leiterin verschiedener Chöre und Ensembles in der Region Basel, Schweiz; ihre interdisziplinären und interkulturellen Projekte begegnen immer auch sozialen und politischen Fragen.

D // lang //Abélia Nordmann leitet Chöre, Ensembles und Produktionen in Basel und Bern und in den Nachbarländern der Schweiz. Sie ist Dirigentin des Opern-Kinderchors der Bühnen Bern (CH), des Kammerchors Ensemble Choeur3 (CH/F/D) und des contrapunkt chor (CH); sie leitete zehn Jahre lang den Kinder- und Jugendchor Lörrach, das ensemble liberté und das kollektiv novantik und initiierte die singenden Frauen*rechtlerinnen FIMMENE!. Mit TRËI (Nordmann, Şimşek, Miribung) singt, schreibt und performt sie vocal folk aus verschiedenen Kulturen und eigene Kompositionen; das Trio tourt mit seinen Bühnenprojekten in der Schweiz und im Ausland. Abélia Nordmanns Stücke und Arrangements werden von Kinder- und Erwachsenenchören gesungen.

Abélia Nordmann ist Mitglied des Künstlerischen Beirats des Europäischen Jugendchorfestivals Basel und Mitglied des Kulturrats Baselland. Sie wirkte bis 2008 als Pianistin und Musikpädagogin in München und schloss ihren Specialised Master in Chorleitung an der Hochschule für Musik Basel 2013 ab. Seit 2016 wächst im französischen Südwesten das Ideenhaus L'ARCADE.

Interdisziplinäre und interkulturelle Brückenprojekte, Neue Musik und Chorimprovisation bilden den Schwerpunkt ihres Engagements, das Welt und Kunst mit offenen Ohren wahrnimmt; Abélia Nordmanns Projekte begegnen dabei immer auch sozialen und politischen Fragen. 2016 erhielt ihre Arbeit den Förderpreis Musik des Kantons Basel-Landschaft.

F // court // Abélia Nordmann est directrice artistique de différents chœurs et ensembles dans la région de Bâle, en Suisse ; ses projets interdisciplinaires et interculturels rencontrent toujours des questions sociales et politiques.

F // long // Abélia Nordmann dirige des chœurs, des ensembles et des productions à Bâle et à Berne ainsi que dans les pays voisins de la Suisse. Elle est cheffe du chœur d'enfants de l'Opéra de Berne,du chœur de chambre des trois pays Ensemble Ch œ ur3, du contrapunkt chor et du choeur d'enfants de village de Biederthal; elle a travaillé avec le Kinder- und Jugendchor Lörrach, avec l'ensemble liberté et avec le jeune ensemble vocal et instrumental kollektiv novantik et initié les activistes chantantes de FIMMENE! Avec TRËI (Nordmann, Şimşek, Miribung), elle chante et écrit du vocal folk de différentes cultures et des propres compositions ; le trio tourne en Suisse et à l'étranger avec ses projets scéniques. Les œuvres d'Abélia Nordmann sont chantées par des ensembles vocaux de tout âge.

Abélia Nordmann est membre du Conseil Artistique du European Youth Choir Festival Basel ainsi que du Conseil Culturel de Bâle-Campagne. C’est sous sa tutelle que se développe dans le sud-ouest de la France, depuis 2016, la «maisons d’idées» L’ARCADE.

Abélia Nordmann a œuvré à Munich, jusqu’en 2008, en tant que pianiste et pédagogue musicale, et a achevé son Specialised Master en direction de chœur à la Haute École de Musique de Bâle en 2013.

Son engagement se concentre sur les projets-passerelles interdisciplinaires et interculturels, la musique contemporaine et l’improvisation vocale et chorale. Alors qu’elle perçoit le monde et l’art avec une oreille ouverte et critique, les projets d’Abélia Nordmann comportent toujours une part de confrontation avec les questions sociales et politiques. En 2016, son travail musical et conceptionnel a été honoré par le Förderpreis Musik du Canton de Bâle-Campagne.
